At TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, we’re helping drive innovation and connect youth to a world of opportunities by funding charities that provide health and education programs, many enabled by technology.
The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation was established on October 19, 2018.
Yes. The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation is an independent charitable organization separate and distinct from TELUS. Charitable Registration # 887483741RR0001.
The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation is an independent registered charity dedicated to funding health and technology-focused charitable programs in communities across Canada.
Our funding priorities are:
- Health and education
- Innovative use of technology
- Stronger communities
TELUS Friendly Future Foundation contributes more than 8 million dollars each year to support local youth-serving charities in communities across Canada.
TELUS, our Founding Donor, covers all general administrative expenses ensuring that 100 percent of donations can directly support the charities we fund.
The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation provides funding through:
TELUS Community Board grants provide funding of up to $20,000 to local youth charities in communities across Canada.
Innovation Grants provide funding of up to $200,000 for breakthrough ideas in youth mental health or environmental education and climate action programs for youth.

The 13 Canadian TELUS Community Boards are comprised of local leaders who know their communities best. This award-winning model empowers those community champions to make recommendations on the projects, places and people that need the Foundation’s support the most.

TELUS customers across Canada can join the TELUS Change for Good™ program and round up their monthly bill to have the difference donated to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation. Customers in British Columbia and Alberta with two or more eligible services earn exclusive TELUS Rewards™ points. Points can then be donated to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation.

Gift of securities:
Gifting publicly traded securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds) to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation can make a lasting impact while maximizing your tax benefits.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a Canada Revenue Agency-approved granting structure that has become one of the most efficient ways for individuals, families, and corporations to manage their philanthropy. A fund can be set-up quickly, and for very little cost. Donations can be directed to your fund for which charitable tax receipt(s) are given. You benefit immediately from the tax relief gained through a donation, but can take the time to select the programs you would like to support.
