As front line workers help us through COVID–19, CAMH helps themJul 24, 2020
Our front line health care workers continue to meet the global COVID–19 pandemic with courage and resilience by working around the clock to support Canadians, our health care community has seen an increase in the need for mental health support, with demand growing daily. With healthcare workers constantly on call focusing on the health of others, they may not prioritize their own mental health. Thanks to a $150,000 TELUS Friendly Future Foundation grant to Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation (CAMH), over 1000 health care workers will be able to participate in the new CAMH ECHO ‘Coping with COVID-19’ virtual training programs. This assistance will help ensure that these front line heroes are supported in their own personal mental health and are able to continue supporting Canadians through COVID-19 and beyond.
As Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital, CAMH is well positioned to develop the necessary evidence-based resources needed to meet Canada's urgent mental health care needs. Since launching on March 27, CAMH has already registered over 615 healthcare workers from over 250 organizations for its virtual education program.

Through partnerships with organizations like CAMH, the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation continues to reinforce the importance of putting mental health at the forefront of our minds.
