Financial circumstances should never define potential

The pursuit of higher education should be a time of opportunity, yet for too many young people in Canada, it is overshadowed by the weight of financial stress. With the rising costs of tuition and living expenses, more than 75% of students are finding it hard to afford post-secondary education. For many youth in our communities, the dream of a degree or diploma is slipping out of reach.
We believe financial circumstances should never define potential. That’s why we created the TELUS Student Bursary - to bridge the gap between financial hardship and a chance at a brighter future for deserving students who are making a difference in their communities.

About the Bursary

The TELUS Student Bursary is based on need - not transcripts - and provides $3,000 for college students and $5,000 for university students to be applied directly toward tuition at post-secondary institutions across Canada.

Support beyond tuition

We believe in holistic support. In addition to tuition funding, recipients receive access to wraparound supports to help them thrive:
  • Connectivity:
Free or low-cost TELUS Mobility for Good® and Internet for Good® plans.
  • Well-being:
24/7 access to mental health resources through TELUS Health Student Support.
  • Career growth:
Exclusive internships and engagement with TELUS student hiring programs.

Who is eligible to apply

  • Youth between the ages of 17 and 29 in financial need
  • Accepted into, or attending, a first undergraduate degree or diploma program at a college, university or polytechnic institute in Canada
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or Protected Person
  • Students committed to delivering a social impact initiative during the course of their studies that will have a positive impact in their community
