Tanjit K. Nagra (Chair)

Director, Office of the Vice-President (Administration), University of Manitoba

Tanjit K. Nagra joined the TELUS Manitoba and Saskatchewan Community Board in 2023, assuming the position of Community Board Chair in April 2025. Tanjit brings a wealth of experience in governance, advocacy, and community leadership to her role on the TELUS Manitoba and Saskatchewan Community Board. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Tanjit’s dedication to service stems from the values of "seva"—selfless service—instilled in her by her parents, who immigrated to Canada from India.

Tanjit has an extensive history of community involvement, serving on boards such as the University of Manitoba Board of Governors and Senate. As a former President of the University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU), she spearheaded significant initiatives, including the introduction of a universal bus pass program and flexible health and dental coverage for over 20,000 students. Her leadership was instrumental in a $2.4 million childcare centre expansion and the development of a 10-year plan to support student research, as well as scholarships and bursaries for Indigenous students. In recognition of her contributions, she was named "Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy" by the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Manitoba in 2018.

Professionally, Tanjit has a diverse background in government relations, not-for-profit management, and organizational leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Manitoba. As a commitment to lifelong learning, Tanjit is currently pursuing her Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

Tanjit serves as the Director, Office of the Vice-President (Administration) at the University of Manitoba. Previously, she was the Chief Executive Officer at Pharmacists Manitoba, where she advocated on behalf of community pharmacists across the province.

With her passion for board governance, advocacy, and volunteerism, Tanjit is committed to making a meaningful impact in her community and beyond.
